Connecting your MacBook to deeploi installs your company's apps and security settings. Which path you follow depends on what you see when you first start your device.

If an enrollment screen appeared during initial setup

This path applies to brand new devices provided by your company. During the macOS setup assistant, a Remote Management screen with an Enroll button appears automatically.

  1. On the Remote Management screen, click Enroll.

  1. Open the deeploi registration email on another device (your phone or another computer). The subject line is "Required COMPANY device registration". You will find your personal registration code inside. You can also ask your IT admin for the code.
  2. Enter the code in the field shown on screen. Your company profile will download and install automatically.
  3. Continue through the remaining setup screens: timezone, FileVault disk encryption (click Continue), Touch ID (optional), and design.
  4. The deeploi Companion app launches automatically after setup completes and begins installing.

  1. Once installation finishes, click OK. Your apps will then install on your device.

Important Keep your device on and connected to the internet until all apps have finished installing.

If you are registering an existing device

This path applies if your device is already set up, or if you did not see an enrollment screen during initial setup. If you are setting up your device for the first time, complete the MacBook setup guide first, then return here.

What does the video cover?

  1. Opening the registration email. Log in to your work email via Safari, then find the email with the subject "Required COMPANY device registration".
  2. Clicking Register. Scroll to the second section of the email and click the Register button.
  3. Confirming your device. Confirm this is your work device and click Yes.
  4. Downloading the Companion app. Click Allow and then open the downloaded package file.
  5. Installing the Companion. Follow the installer steps and enter your Mac login password when prompted.
  6. Completing registration. Wait for installation to finish, then click OK.

  1. Log in to your work email via Safari — for example, mail.google.com or outlook.com. Your email credentials are in your deeploi welcome email.
  2. Find the email with the subject "Required COMPANY device registration". If you cannot find it, check your spam folder. If it is still missing, ask your IT admin to resend it.

  1. Scroll down to the second section and click Register. Alternatively, go to start.deeploi.io on your MacBook and follow the steps shown.
  2. Confirm this is your work device and click Yes.

Only connect your work device, never a personal device. Connecting a device installs company settings, provides visibility into installed apps, and enables actions such as a remote lock or reset. These actions can result in permanent loss of personal data.

  2. Follow the installation assistant. When asked for credentials, enter your Mac account password.
