Which Tools Need Extra Steps for Automated Accounts?

For most connected tools, there is nothing for you to do beyond giving deeploi admin access. Notion and 1Password each need one extra thing from you. Both are listed below.

What does the automation do?

When an employee is onboarded, deeploi creates their accounts in the connected tools in their bundle. When they are offboarded, deeploi suspends or removes those accounts. Before, many of these steps were done by hand, and that sometimes led to mistakes.

BenefitWhat it means for you
Fewer errorsEvery onboarding and offboarding follows the same steps, with far less manual work.
Runs on weekends and public holidaysTiming no longer depends on our working hours, so you can schedule onboardings and offboardings when you need them.
Nothing new to set updeeploi still only needs admin access to your tools.

Which tools need extra steps?

The automation is not yet available for every tool. We are connecting more tools step by step. Most connected tools need nothing beyond admin access. These two need something extra:

ToolWhat you need to know
Notiondeeploi's admin account must also be a Workspace Owner.
1PasswordAdmins can no longer add, suspend, or remove users by hand while the integration is on.

To give deeploi admin access to a tool, see Which Apps Does deeploi Manage?

What do I need to set up in Notion?

deeploi's admin account in Notion needs the Workspace Owner role. With a regular admin role, deeploi can't create or remove your employees' Notion accounts.

  1. Open Notion and go to Settings → People.
  2. Find the deeploi admin account (admin+yourcompanyname@services.deeploi.io).
  3. Change its role to Workspace Owner.

How does 1Password work with automation?

deeploi connects to 1Password through 1Password's own integration for adding and removing users. Once it's on, deeploi becomes the only one allowed to add, suspend, or remove users in your 1Password account.

TaskWhile the integration is on
Adding, suspending, and removing usersHandled by deeploi during onboarding and offboarding
Sharing or removing vault accessStill done by your admins as usual
Adding, suspending, or removing a user by handNot supported in the 1Password Admin Console as long as the integration is on. To do it anyway, turn the integration off first (see below).

How do I add or remove a 1Password user by hand?

Sometimes you need to change a user outside an onboarding or offboarding. Any 1Password admin can do this:

  1. In 1Password, open Integrations.
  2. Turn the deeploi integration off.
  3. Add, suspend, or remove the user.
  4. Turn the integration back on right away.

Important

If the integration stays off, deeploi can't add or remove anyone in 1Password. Upcoming onboardings and offboardings will then skip 1Password, and you need to add or remove those employees' 1Password accounts yourself. Make sure every 1Password admin at your company knows to turn it back on.
