How do I skip an onboarding or offboarding?
Skipping closes an overdue onboarding or offboarding without deeploi taking any action: no accounts are created or removed, no emails are sent, and no device is reset. Use it when the case was already handled outside deeploi, or when there was never anything to do. Skipping takes about 30 seconds.
When do I skip instead of submitting the form?
deeploi marks an onboarding or offboarding as overdue when the start date or last working day has passed and the form was never submitted. A banner then appears at the top of the employee's profile: "This offboarding is overdue. Submit the form to remove access and take back the hardware, or skip it if there's nothing to do."

| Skip when | Submit when |
|---|---|
| Your team already handled everything itself: accounts, device, and email | deeploi still needs to remove access, handle the mailbox, or take back the device |
| The person never actually started, or the departing employee had no accounts or device | The employee has accounts or a device that still need to be handled |
| The record is a test or a duplicate from your HR system | The details have changed. Edit the form instead, see Edit or Cancel an On/Offboarding |
| The process doesn't fit this case, for example a freelancer whose access you manage yourself | — |
Skipping is not a shortcut for a real offboarding.
If the departing employee still has a Microsoft 365 or Google account, a 1Password account, or a company device, submit the form instead. Skipping leaves everything as it is.
How do I skip an onboarding or offboarding?
- Go to Employees in the deeploi platform and select the employee. The overdue banner appears at the top of their profile.
- In the banner, click Skip, nothing to do.
- Choose the reason that fits.
| Process | Available reasons |
|---|---|
| Offboarding | Had to be resolved right away, the process doesn't fit this case, there were no accounts to deactivate, test or duplicate record, other |
| Onboarding | Had to be resolved urgently, the process doesn't fit, the user was already active, test or duplicate record, other |
- Optionally add a note describing how the case was resolved, then click Skip.

The overdue banner disappears, and the onboarding or offboarding is saved as skipped along with your reason. deeploi uses these reasons to understand which situations the standard process doesn't cover yet.
To skip an offboarding, the employee needs a last working day or exit date on file. If the date is missing, add it in the employee's profile or in your HR system first.
